This is it! Our Outdoor Lighting bill is going to the NH Municipal and County Government committee for review during the week of March 15. However, there is a good chance that it will be KILLED unless we, the members of NHCRL contact all of the committee members. Ask them to do this: SEND THE BILL, HB727 on Outdoor Lighting, TO STUDY COMMITTEE.

Feel free to tell them why you are interested in this bill, it makes a major impact to the representatives to hear a real person that has a polite interest, as opposed to a form letter. The major points to make are safety (roadside glare), quality of life (light trespass), cost(all the street lights we pay for). Be sure to keep the call brief and polite, as they are all busy with this education funding issue.

If we can get the bill to the study committee, we will be able to work out some problems that have developed during the drafting of the bill. Please help, your call can and will make the difference of having something this year or waiting for 2 years!

Contact the committee member nearest you, this will insure statewide coverage. If you make a contact please send an E-mail to nhas@compuserve.com and let us know what happened so we can coordinate this effort, and insure everyone has been contacted.
