LMFFI: The Les
Miserables Fan Fiction Index
Data Entry System

This set of pages implements a database of Les Mis fan fiction.

Each entry (row in the database) consists of:

It is actually a simple text file, with one line for each 'row', or entry, in the database. Each row has the following form:

title:::author:::chars:::type:::url:::summary
Note that the 'summary' field must not contain any line-endings. However, it may contain HTML markup.

To manage the database -- i.e. to create, update, or delete entries in the database -- use the appropriate buttons in the menubar at the top of each page, and follow the directions on the page(s) that follow.

To simply view the entire list, click on the list button.

The link to generate that complete list is:

http://www.mv.com/users/kgg/cgi-local/._proj28/lmffi.cgi?action=list

This link may be modified by adding any or all of the following, in any order:

&title=RE
&author=RE
&char=RE
&type=RE
&url=RE
&summary=RE
where "RE" is a so-called "regular expression".

Examples:
The link to generate a list of stories by anyone named "Goutal" is:

http://www.mv.com/users/kgg/cgi-local/._proj28/lmffi.cgi?action=list&author=Goutal&type=story

The link to generate a list of poems about "Grantaire" is:
http://www.mv.com/users/kgg/cgi-local/._proj28/lmffi.cgi?action=list&char=Grantaire&type=poem

The link to generate a list of poems only about "Grantaire" is:
http://www.mv.com/users/kgg/cgi-local/._proj28/lmffi.cgi?action=list&char=^Grantaire$&type=poem

Finally, if you want to get a dialog box asking you (or whoever the user is) to fill in criteria for selecting works to list, add this option:

&select=1
