"Otto Carius" translation
On 3 July 1999 we completed a translation of Miyazaki's new manga Otto Carius - Doromamire no tora ("Tigers Covered with Mud"). This series, which was published as six monthly episodes in Model Graphix magazine ending in the May 1999 issue, concerns the real-life exploits of the German tank commander Otto Carius in Estonia during World War II. "The Return of Hans" translation
On 29 August 1999 we completed a translation of Hansu no kikan ("The Return of Hans"), a three-part series published in Model Graphix magazine in 1994. The story takes place during the days immediately following the surrender of Berlin at the end of World War II. Hans, a young German chief tank mechanic, and Rosa, a girl living near Berlin, try to make their way to western Germany in an abandoned tank that Hans has repaired. But will they be able to escape the advancing Soviet army?!
