Shell casings litter the floor inside Carius's Tiger tank.  As Carius peers out of the forward observtion slit in the commander's cupola, a crew member slams another round into the breech.

「いまのやつまだ 動いている  もう 一発！！」

  "The one we just shot is still moving.  One more shot!!"

  The Russians' anti-tank rifle is powerful.  One shot breaks the periscope into tiny pieces.

A view of Carius's Tiger tank from a rearward perspective.  On the right, Russian soldiers (in the distance) entrenched in a farmhouse ruin hit the tank with machine gun fire; while on the left, fires rage.

  "They're also coming from the right-hand side.  I can't move the gun."

A Russian tank emerges from the smoke.  In the periscope's view, triangular markings are superimposed on the tank as reference marks so that Carius can calculate the range to target.  Illustrated below the tank, Miyazaki (with a small triangle hovering over his head) tries to figure out the math on a piece of paper.

Only one of Carius's eyes is visible as he peers out from an observation slit in the commander's cupola.

「目標 歩兵へ     榴弾 こめっ  移動 する  イヤッ... マテッ！！」
"Mokuhyou hohei e    Ryuudan kome   Idou suru       Iya... mate!!"
  "Target the infantrymen.  Load a shell.  We'll move.  No... wait!!"

Russian soldiers run off to the right as a Russian tank burns in the background; another tank in the foreground rotates its turret, preparing to fire.

"Houtou dake ikite iru!  Hidari kara san-ryoume da  Isoge!!"
  "The gun turret is still alive!  Third tank from the left.  Hurry!"

Kramer's face is partially hidden as he peers through the gunsight and fires.

  The Russian tank soldiers were masters of tenacity.

  That brave tank made a big explosion.

  He avoided the [?]-soldiers and kept pounding away at a distance.

ロシア兵は 乱れずに 土手のむこうへ もどっていった。

A sweating Carius repairs his damaged periscope inside the commander's cupola.

ロシア兵が このまま 引き下がる はずが ない。

  It's impossible that the Russian soldiers will withdraw as it is.

弾丸が 心細く なって来た。
Dangan ga kokorobosoku natte kita.
  The number of shells (remaining) became discouraging.

ペリスコープを とりかえつつ カリウスは はじめて 不安に なった。

Miyazaki (a pig as usual) wonders when it will all end.
