QUOTE:

"Fan fiction is the way of the culture repairing the damage done in a system where contemporary myths are owned by the corporations instead of owned by the folks." (I don't know who said this, but I liked it when I saw it)

SPOTLIGHT ON: "Fallen Devotion", by Adrienne Florian

We all know what Grantaire would do for Enjolras. But what if Enjolras knew it too? In this fast-paced story, les Amis get in a little over their heads, and fearless leader is forced to confront his own feelings about the R (no, not *those* sorts of feelings!). Beautifully written.

WHAT'S NEW:

Well, I've started this newsletter; there's also a "Rate This Site" box, where you can record your opinion of the Index and a "Feedback" button, which allows you to send me a quick message without mucking about with your email. I've joined a new webring, which should lead those of you who are interested to all kinds of other fanfic sites.

Lonely Gamine has a new article, "Fan Fiction: Plagiarism or Tribute?" in which she tackles the great question: Are we evil outlaws or not? ;) And Ursula Pontmercy speaks out against relationships that Hugo never intended in "In Defense of Friendship".

The site which does for "The Scarlet Pimpernel" what the Index does for Les Miserables, and furthermore is much classier-looking. Check it out! Tell your friends!
