A graceful hand grasped a quill and dipped it into a small inkwell. Its owner sighed in exasperation and threw his pen onto a piece of parchment. A knock sounded and he stood up, stomping loudly to the door.

"Abite, molestus!" His voice softened. "Ego scribi, et volo te ambulare ex cubiculum, si vis."

"Jehan? What were you just saying? Was that Greek?"

Jehan sighed, and clapped Courfeyrac on the back.

"You sounded angry," his friend continued.

"Er, no... I was just saying, er, how nice it is to see you!"

Courfeyrac smiled. "You always were a bad liar, Prouvaire."
