Attention fans! Are you up for a challenge? Enter to achieve fame and fortune (comparatively speaking) in the Official LMFFI Writing Contests! All entries will be posted here on the site and included in the Index, and there are prizes to be won.

If you don't feel competitive, you can check out the Challenges, quick ideas for fanfic inspiration. Challenges have no winners and no deadlines; you can submit an entry whenever the spirit moves you.

All contest and challenge entries should be emailed to abbygoutal at yahoo.com, preferably with an appropriate subject line.

• If you're the 9430th visitor to the Index, you can win a (small) prize. Get a screen capture of the counter, and email it to me with your name and snail-mail address.

Contest Rules:

1. All entries must include the author's name or nickname.
2. Stories must be received by the specified date in order to be considered for any one contest.
3. Stories should be written during the contest period (between the opening date and deadline).
4. Unless otherwise specified, stories must be able to stand alone. No serials.
5. Untitled entries are subject to being given titles by the Indexer without notice.
6. Entries must be in a format decipherable by the Indexer's computer in order to be eligible.
7. By entering, you agree to allow your story to be posted on the Les Miserables Fan Fiction Index site indefinitely, but not exclusively. All entries remain the property of their authors.
8. Plagiarists will be disqualified and branded with a big ugly letter P on the nose.
9. Collaborations are acceptable.
10. Multiple submissions are acceptable, provided all entries conform to the rest of the rules, but will not improve your chances of winning.
11. All entries will be judged by the Indexer and selected impartial individuals. Decisions are final.
12. Contest winners must provide the Indexer with their snail mail (real life) address. She will not give it to anyone else ever.
13. First-place winners, unless otherwise stated, will be awarded one LMFFI T-shirt (as shown here) in the appropriate size. All other prizes will consist of Groovy-looking JPEGs, until further notice.
