Scouting Update:

Hi All,

Here it is, the first of the actual weekly updates. We will have a lot going on this fall, so keep your eyes out for e-mail and remember to check the website for updates as well.

IMPORTANT: If you have a tent from white water rafting or ANY other Troop gear, please bring it to the meeting this week!

I hope you all had a good summer, I know I did. I saw a lot of you guys during the summer too, from the great canoe trip at the beginning, activity packed Camp Bell and Valley in the middle, the fantastic Lovell's Island trip (thanks again Mr. Letizio!), and the awesome rafting trip this past weekend, we have had a very full Scouting summer!

Fall will not be much different. The PLC met last night and developed our weekly meeting plans so that we can do everything necessary to deliver a solid program and keep you guys advancing! This week marks the kick off of the 2008/9 Scouting year for Troop 266. On Thursday we will review the calendar, check gear, and start detailed planning for our first outing, a nearby backpacking trip. We will have a major Troop service opportunity later in September, followed by the Nutfield District Fall Camporee which you will hear all about this week. As usual, the sub sale in October and camping trips in both November and December round out the program for the first part of the year.

Dates for your calendars are as follows:

8/28: This Thursday, first meeting, 7:30 Center School

9/13-14: Local backpacking trip to get back in the swing

9/27: Service opportunity supporting the "Moose Parade"

10/3-5: Nutfield Camporee, Lumberjack competition, Pelham Scout lot

10/25: Sub Sale

November and December schedule is still a little in flux... but there are plans for two campouts.

I look forward to seeing you all Thursday night! Even though it is not uniform inspection I do expect you all to wear your uniforms....
