Daniel Webster Council, BSA Knife Policy

The Directors of Daniel Webster Council have adopted the following policy regarding knives at officially sanctioned Council Activities.

Folding knives with a blade length, not to exceed, four and a half (4 1/2) inches are appropriate for all legal and practical uses at Council activities, include encampments, hikes meetings, demonstrations, competitive and service events.

Therefore, sheath knives - fixed blades - (of any length) including machetes, bayonets, swords, cleavers, death stars, stillettos, switch blades, etc. are not allowed for youth or adult member use at Daniel Webster Council functions. The only exception to this rule will be the chef's knife included in each patrol kitchen for the purpose of meal preparation.
