Note: These are rough guidelines.

In very rough terms: a personal web page can be used for many things: a personal profile, exposition of things that you are interested in, pointers that you have found on the net -- in short, a sort of representation of your identity in terms of your interests or data that you can present. Or, for business users, you may use your personal web page for information about your operation.

Some things that we want to avoid are:

• Anything that gets us in trouble: anything illegal, such as copyright violations, is right out, as is obscene material.

• Anything that continuously swamps our server - this would not be fair to us or to other users of the system. That's why there is a bandwidth allotment, with extra cost for extra use.

• Breaches of netiquette such as sending out unsolicited mail mentioning your web page, posting SPAMs mentioning your web page, etc, and in general anything that violates our guidelines of policies, terms, and conditions.

We're not going to be monitoring pages for content or appropriateness, so don't feel like you need to squeeze into some narrow set of rules. However if we see something that we believe to be a problem area, we'll work to resolve it.
