IP users may need to reconfigure your nameservers

Up to now, MV has run 5 nameservers, as follows:

In preparation for various upcoming system changes (see the announcement schedule), the nameservers in Concord, Dover, and Peterborough will be decommissioned. Additionally, as part of a long-term renumbering goal (but as yet without a specific schedule), we'll also eventually be removing the two Litchfield nameservers listed above.

New nameserver systems will be established to replace the functions of these. Two new nameserver addresses are available now:

If you are using one of the three nameservers that are targetted for removal on June 9 (199.125.70.1, 199.125.71.1, and 199.125.78.1), you will have to change your configuration to use the new nameservers. You can use 199.125.85.1 as the primary nameserver and, if your software has a space for it, 199.125.85.2 as the secondary nameserver. We urge you to make this change as soon as practical (now would be a good time), and not wait for the June 9 deadline.

Additionally, even if you are not using one of these three nameservers, but you are using 192.80.84.3 or 192.80.84.1, you may want to consider changing your configuration as well. As mentioned, those two nameservers will eventually be removed at some future date (however, there will be a separate schedule and set of announcements when that happens).
