MV Rates + Services: Internet Domain Names

Domain Registration Services

Please refer to the table below for information about registering or transferring a domain name. The table lists the top level domain (TLD) names that we provide services for (a "top level domain name" is the rightmost part of a domain name, such as ".com" or ".org" that is the top level of the hierarchy you are registering in). Note carefully:

• The ICANN Dispute Policy applies to all domains and you must be familiar with this policy.

• The registration agreement containing the terms and conditions for each top level domain imposed by the registrar and registry; you are bound by this agreement if you hold a domain name under that top level name.

• In the registration agreement, the term "RSP" refers to us, MV Communications Inc.

• Registration merely gets you the rights to the domain name. Domain nameservice must also be implemented (MV provides nameservice as outlined in a section below). Other services such as web hosting or mail mapping are things that you can do with your domain name, and are provided as other services.

• Once you have successfully registered a domain name, the registration fee is non-refundable.

.name pricing: third level .name domain registration (e.g. first.last.name) is available for a 1, 2, or 10 year period at a price of $12 times the number of years. .name email forwarding (e.g. first@last.name) must be registered at the time of initial registration and costs an additional $12 times the number of years. To register or transfer a domain in one of the above top level names, please contact our Customer Service representatives.

For all other names not listed above you must go through another registrar for registry services. We can provide the nameservice per the terms below; please contact us for that information. (Please do NOT register domains using our nameservers without authorization.)

Domain Nameservice

MV offers domain nameservice for our customers, to go along with other ISP services.

If your account includes services that you pay for other than nameservices (as most accounts do-- for example, if you also have a dialup account), we will provide the first domain nameservice at no extra charge. Nameservice for additional domains will be charged $1/month.

If your account does not include services other than domains nameservice that you pay for, the first nameservice account will be charged $5/month, with each additional domain nameservice accounts being $1/month.

Note that domain nameservice is not the same as domain registration; registration grants you the limited rights to a name and requires a payment to a registry to obtain that name (e.g. such as our registration services above). Nameservice makes it so that other people on the Internet can look up and use your domain name. Services such as web hosting and email delivery are not included in nameservice-- but nameservice is required for those services to work.
