What is Server Co-Location?With our co-location service (aka colocation or collocation), you can place your computer system or multiple computer systems at our facility in order to take advantage of high internet bandwidth. You don't have to pay for expensive circuits to your location, and you have access to much higher bandwidth than you'd get over most kinds of dedicated circuits anyway. For most server applications, you have a mix of requirements: you would like to be able to service individual requests quickly and at high transfer speed, but on the average you may not use a great deal of bandwidth. Whereas it may be costly and wasteful to pay for a high-speed connection to your location just to satisfy your need for small bursts of high-speed transfers, you can easily and economically place a server at our facility. Here, you can use bursts of high bandwidth but only pay for the average bandwidth you use over time. And even better, the base bandwidth allotment that you get greatly exceeds the requirements of most small business servers. |

Your free months will be the first, fourth, and seventh full calendar months in which you have continuous colocation service. For example if your service starts on June 10 and continues through at least the following February, your months of July, October, and the following January will be free. (Usage in the free months must not exceed your customary billable rate; any extra billable amount may be invoiced at our discretion.)
See our colocation information for complete details.

| Non-rackmount server (e.g. a tower or mini-tower) will be placed at MV's discretion either on a rack shelf on a 19" relay rack, or on alternative shelving. Server may share shelf space with other customer equipment. Server should be at most 24" in height. | ||

We have created a bandwidth pool, shared by the servers in that
pool. The pool is restricted to an average data rate that is
calculated as 64Kbps times the number of servers in the pool,
with the caveat that this pool will never be less than a
T1's worth, or 1536Kbps.
Because of the way usages average out, your personal server
will typically be able to serve data on demand at rates up
to the pool's total bandwidth.
Abusers will either be asked to stay in line or move out of the
pool.
The Personal Colo service is a "bare bones" colo for people who want a low-cost colocation, e.g. for a personal system. Personal colocation comes with a single routable IP address -- no additional addresses or subnets are available. |
