local | state | beyond local: The First Church of Nashua, UCC
This community has been a part of my life since I was two years old. It is my second home and my second family. I've been singing in the choirs since the age of 3, and actually started directing my own choir last year. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to contribute to my church in a whole new way. I am also a Sunday School Office staff assistant, which is a fancy way of saying that I take attendance of the Sunday School classes, make a whole mess of photocopies, and man the office when the "real" staff people are all in the service. state: New Hampshire Conference of the United Church of Christ (NHCUCC)
This is the collective organization of all of the UCC churches in New Hampshire. There is an "Annual Meeting" each year with adult and often youth delegates from every congregation. The NHCUCC also recieves a portion of the collections from each congregation to put toward the causes it deems worthwhile.

One outstanding mission of the NHCUCC is the Outdoor Ministries program, which is essentially Horton Center, a summer camp on Pine Mountain in Gorham, NH, right in the heart of the gorgeous White Mountains. The (generally) week-long camp is a fabulous experience that brings one physically and spiritually closer to God. I spent at least one week for 7 wonderful summers up there. My brother spent 7 or 8 as a camper and this summer will be his 4th (I think) on staff. This place changes one for a lifetime...

beyond: The United Church of Christ (UCC)
This is my denomination...I don't know quite how to describe how we differ in our beliefs or what makes the UCC the UCC, so just go to the site. :)
