CATCHING UP WITH THE CD "BRUCELEGS"

It's been a year since the last update. A very, very busy year both personally and professionally. And I hear there was a tour in there somewhere too...

To make a long story short, I'm finally trying to catch up on my site over the next few months. My first concern is getting all the various listings up before worrying about scans. As it is, I've already added around 100 releases since the last update. But I still need any and all information concerning the CD "Bruceleg" titles listed below. As always, any info would be appreciated -- label name, catalog number(s), source(s), disc time(s), track list(s), track times, whether it's a CD or CD-R release, etc. And if you have a chance, click here or on the "Missing Information" link in the CD "BRUCELEGS" MISCELLANEOUS FILES area, since there's still plenty of information missing from those 100 new titles I just added.

The proliferation of CD-R burners has made 1999 a rather active year for releases. What I'm trying to do is catalog those titles where the contents are well known to be from a known single source, or a unique compilation of sources and shows -- rather than catalog items where the CD-R artwork exists on a web site but the actual contents could be from one of a possible dozen different DAT or Minidiscs recordings of the same show.

Once I get all the 1999 titles documented, as well as the upcoming 2000 tour shows that no doubt will be released this year, I plan on having a CD "Brucelegs" poll during the 2nd half of this year of ONLY the 1999-2000 tour CDs.

But first, I need to get all the new CD & CD-R releases documented. If you possess or can otherwise offer information for any of the following titles, please send me email at rpb@brucelegs.com. Between what I already have, and what's listed below, I know there will still be a bunch of additional titles that I don't even know exist yet -- especially from the US portion of the tour. Anyone who finds that they have a title in their possession that I don't have listed, feel free to write me to let me know. Also feel free to send me all the information you can on these titles.

CD "BRUCELEGS" INFORMATION REQUESTS

Here are some CD "Brucelegs" which I need tracks lists for. The minimum I'd like to have is the track lists, label name and catalog number, location(s) and date(s) when the tracks were recorded, and disc times for each disc if a multi-disc set. I'm not even sure all these exist, but check back every so often as I'll be updating this listing as more information, or even more new titles, becomes available.

Since the information for that title was sketchy at best, I'm not sure if this is the same as that title or a different release altogether. If it's the same it's listed with 2 suppliers, otherwise just one.

CD "BRUCELEGS" PACKAGING SCANS

At this time, approximately 70% of the CD "Bruceleg" titles found on this site include packaging scans. While some only have a scan of the front-cover, a majority include scans of the front and back covers as well as selected scans of the rest of the packaging. In addition, an increasing number of titles also include scans of the discs themselves. Altogether, there are over 2000 scans that can be found on this site.

For the benefit of those who may not know how to access these scans, I offer the following instructions:

1. Click on a title listed on the left within the BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN CD "BRUCELEGS" DISCOGRAPHY to display the information for that title on the right.
2. If a small scan of the front cover of the CD "Bruceleg" is present, click on it. This will open a new window containing the larger scans.

Quite a few new scans were added over the last 11 months. However, I still need scans -- especially for any titles which either don't have any scans or currently have older, poor quality scans.

I'm always looking for volunteers to provide new and/or better scans of CD "Brucelegs" for this site. If you're willing, have a decent color scanner and any CD "Brucelegs," e-mail me at rpb@brucelegs.com with your CD list and I will get back to you. Please don't send any graphic files unless I've gotten back to you to let you know which ones I want.

SUPPORT THE CD "BRUCELEGS" SITE

I've never asked for compensation for any part of this listing or other related documents that I've created. It's been no small task and has not been exactly cheap either, but I do it for the benefit of all those folks who have enjoyed collecting Bruce Springsteen's music. Especially those who like myself have discovered other similar-minded individuals on the Internet, various on-line services and Bruce Springsteen fanzines which bring together individuals from around the world. I do enjoy hearing from folks that have told me they have benefited from these documents.

In support for my part in making this site available to all, I'd like to ask a favor. There's still a great deal of Bruce shows that have never been properly documented onto CD. If you have benefited in any way from these documents, and have a good collection of Bruce Springsteen shows on DAT, minidisc, CD or CD-R, I'd really like to get complete low-gen copies of Bruce shows. Just send me your list and I'll let you know. It doesn't even have to be Bruce, I collect recordings of various artists. I'll consider videos too.

Now to make things really clear, this is the deal. From my point of view, I've already done my work. These pages were all coded by hand (HTML generator applications are for sissies). What I'm asking is for you to make tapes for me. This is not a trading situation here. I get a lot of trade requests, but that's not exactly what I had in mind. I get a lot of promises for tapes too, but only a few folks have ever followed through on their promises.
