TRIP TO WASHINGTON APRIL 2001

this is David who went with me to Washington, in his favorite pose, in bed, watching TV with a book.
See how happy he is?

We dressed up and went to a fancy reception at the US Supreme Court.

No it's not a postcard, I took this picture. Nice clouds!

This is the Supreme Court chamber. Our reception was right outside this room, we weren't allowed actually go and eat and spill wine in the chamber.

a better shot of the chamber.

We spent the weekend with Jim and Maureen Simonson, and their two girls, Alex and Lauren.
Jim used to live in Nashua, and worked with David at the NH Statehouse. He married Maureen
and moved to Virginia, where they live right across from Lake Barcroft.

Lauren (age 1 1/2) at the neighborhood beach, straight across from their house.

On Saturday we visited the FDR memorial, which was new since Dave and I last were in DC.
The weather could not have been better.

On Sunday, we went to Arlington National Cemetery, where we paid visits to departed
Supreme Court justices, who are not far from the Kennedy gravesite. Another gorgeous day.

Dave and Lauren say hi to Justice William Brennan. Potter Stewart is to the right,
and Warren Burger directly behind.
