This Year's Practice and Race Sessions

  • This year's friday and saturday practice runs were on clear days. On both friday, half the course was ran, while on saturday the whole course was ran. I was at station #14 during both practice days - station #14 is below tree-line on Mount Washington. good up-hill road position with plenty of bugs to go around.

  • Sunday was another clear day with 80 mile visibility. The race ran from the base to the summit. I was at station #31. Here are several autos zipping past station #31 during the first run on sunday.

  • In the first sunday run we had an unscheduled visit by car #13. The driver had a fuel calculation error and ended up coasting back to station #31. Here are several images of car #13 (a ???)

  • Other highlights from this year's race include...

  • Last year's one place finisher, Frank Sprongl, finished second this year.
  • A course record was set for the run.
  • More details here
  • Noteworthy crunch was car #... which left the race course between stations ### and ####, and traveled approximately 100 feet into the trees - the driver was not hurt, but the car was crunched.
