The Moharimet PTO is comprised of parents and teachers of the children attending Moharimet Elementary School. The purpose of the group is to provide a community of parent volunteers who support the work of teachers and staff in educational programs, enrichment activities and fundraising to support enrichment programs for the school community.
We hold meetings about the third Monday of every month starting in September and ending in May. These meetings are for the purpose of deciding the business of the PTO. In addition there is an educational component of each meeting featuring some aspect of the curriculum or educational issues affecting the community. You are strongly urged to attend these meetings to share your ideas and to help attain the goals of the PTO. Jenni Toutkoushian (868-6393) and Sue Guerra (868-5067) are Co-chairs. Nancy Clarke (868-1751) is the Secretary and David Taylor (868-3504) is the Treasurer.
Throughout the year, there are many activities sponsored by the PTO which require volunteers. In September of each year a volunteer sign-up form is sent home. This list is compiled and, along with a list of activities is kept in the black binder in the PTO space. This binder also lists each PTO activity with a description of the time commitment, nature of the activity and skills involved. This is for everyone's use throughout the year.
A calendar of events is posted and a weekly update is published each Friday to alert the community to upcoming activities, general information and the need for volunteers for any planned event. Please join us in keeping the Moharimet PTO a vital and supportive organization in the school community.
