WELCOME TO JIM'S HUMBLE HOME ON THE WEB

"this just may be the lamest page on the internet..."

You've heard of life in the FAST lane, well, this is life in the BREAK-DOWN lane

Occupation:

I'm a self-employed PRODUCT DESIGNER. My company name is MONT VERNON DESIGN.

Personal:

JIMB I live in a quiet little town in southern New Hampshire called Mont Vernon . It's like Mount Vernon only there's no "U" in the Mont.

MONT VERNON now has its' very own community page.

I'm a lot older than I'll admit, but thank the stars I look younger than I am. Well, sort of. That didn't make much sense, did it?

Anyway, I'm certainly way too old to be out here on the 'net. Us old guys have troubles adjusting to the computer age, you know.

I lied. I've actually been around computers for almost 40 years. Those were the days when it took a room full of machines (like streaming tape readers, and card readers) to perform the function of a modern hand held calculator. I currently use the latest and greatest version of AUTOCAD in my work.

My Philosophy:

Not that anyone really cares, but, I'm just a good ole Yankee at heart, I guess. I 'spect there's a lot that goes with that.

Speaking of Yankee, here's an old Yankee institution that is becoming popular all over. I have been using it for over 40 years. Check it out, it's udderly fantastic for all sorts of skin ailments in both animals and humans. It's called BAGBALM.

Some other things

I've recently become one of those annoying people you seem to find all over the 'net these days. You know the ones that fancy themselves as writers and try to sucker you into reading their LAME STUFF . Right now there's no fiction here, the writings come from my personal experiences.

Some of my Interests:

My work schedule doesn't allow me much free time, but I take what I can get. I really enjoy cooking. I grill (just to be manly, you know). My favorite cuisine is Chinese and I'm really pretty good at it. Well, at least no one's complained or barfed while they were here for dinner. I also do Mexican and German.

Well, I ain't no HIPPY, but I do cook a lot with TOFU. Here's one of my favorite recipes. It's for TOFU POCKETS.

I've been playing acoustic guitar for 35 or so years. Lately it seems that I can't play enough to keep the calluses on my fingers up to snuff.

I'm a big fan of MONTY PYTHON.

I have been listening to PINK FLOYD since the early 70's. Here's a PINK FLOYD site in the Netherlands. I'll tell you one thing though, whenever the world sucks and I need an ATTITUDE adjustment, I plug in the headphones and play DARK SIDE of the MOON cranked up LOUD! For a look at my ecclectic tastes in music try my HEAR THIS page

I must tell you about my boys:

Well, they're not really mine. Well, they're not really boys either. They're my little buddies. They're the Bichon Boys! What's a Bichon Boy you might ask. Bichon Frise is a breed of dog related to the Water Spaniel that originated in the Canary Islands hundreds of years ago. The breed is fairly new to this country (1950's), and is rapidly growing in popularity. Here's pictures of some of my guys.

That's Buffy on the left and David on the right. Just got back from the groomers. OBTW, I didn't name them, they were named by someone else. I wanted to name them Killer or Spike or something like that.

Note: David passed away April 2002. He will be missed. Buffy is 16 and still going strong.

Here's Jato (left) and Jax (right). JATO is an acronym for Jet Assisted Take Off, no explanation necessary.

Some places to go

Visit the mother of all "Today in History" sites. Well, if it's not the mother, it links to the mother. And the grandmother, and the aunt... TODAY IN HISTORY

And OBTW, have you met Mr. Dave Tanny? He's the keeper of the "Today in History" site. If you haven't met David, his pages are an absolute "MUST SEE" DAVE'S FUNSTUFF

Ever wonder where certain words and phrases originated? This may not be the definative source, but it is at least an interesting place to visit. WORD FOR WORD.

This site I am not going to mention anything about, just go for a visit. Most important: to appreciate this site, you follow the contributor's links you find there. MYSTERY SITE.

Interested in finding out what's happening in the sky today? Or maybe something else astronomical. Hey, it's North American Skies.

Deli, so who vants deli already? Actually a neat place to visit and explore. Amongst other things, you'll find a Yiddish dictionary there (click the bagel). See (and hear) all those Yiddish words that have become a part of everyday language. It's The Kosher Nosh. Sholem aleycham!

Interested in the early days of personal computers? Then you need to check out THE TORONTO CLASSIC COMPUTER COLLECTORS ,eh?

The we got no links here links section

Why do it yourself when others have done it SO WELL? Here's a couple of sites that will keep you busy for a while.

Note: I have not reviewed these sites down to the 'nth' degree, so I claim no responsibility for what might be found there.

All sorts of stuff can be found at DUANE BOGENSCHNEIDER'S REFERENCE DESK

Be patient while DUNCAN'S LINKS loads. It's mostly scripting and HTML stuff but some other interesting things too.

It's HOWARD'S links page.

Frank Bauer's HUGE Entrepreneurial Links page.

Visitor Participation Section:

Well, what this is all about is I am collecting some of my shall we say "Is this just me?" thingies and I would like to add my visitors' input to my list. These are those little segments of life here on this planet that make you ask the question "Is it me, or is the rest of the (world/family/group...) nutz?" Those "What's wrong with this picture?" type things. If you would like to contribute, you may do so by either emailing your entries to me or put them in my guest book. You may remain anonymous if you wish. Hopefully, I will be making regular additions. Anyway, here's the collection WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

You want to talk about grandkids? I've got 6 (with #7 on the way) and GRAND is the right word!

THOMAS, MORGAN, RILEY OWEN ASHELY AVERY

Some of my friends on the 'net:

A long-time friend, business associate, and my computer guru is a guy by the name of STEVE BROOKS .

I have an email buddy in Toronto and we write often. He's a cool (don't you just hate that word?) guy and he's really funny. His name is BRIAN MAHONEY . You might want to visit his page.

Her IRC nick is `WILDANGEL` . Well, she really isn't all THAT wild. Her real life name is PAT and she's a friend to lots of people and a really nice lady.

Tadd lives in Amherst, one of the towns next to Mont Vernon. His pages are very well done and he has ton's of interesting stuff to see and do. You'll find lots of local color there including some aerial photos of the area.

Need something? Or maybe have a product or services to market. Here's a good PLACE to start you on your way.

MV COMMUNICATIONS:MY INTERNET PROVIDER

Did you ever wonder who was out there on the 'net? Check this site out. There's a telephone number search utility there too.
