Led inter-corporation committees and coalitions to represent IT industry interests. Represented Compaq in consortia and alliances on IT issues of accessibility regulation, home networking technology, and Y2K technology standards. Managed program to exploit marketing value of standardization activities.
· Chaired the Washington, DC based primary computer industry committee focused on IT accessibility for people with disabilities. Included HP, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, and others. Developed industry position on new rules for IT accessibility and succeeded in changing regulations to be more industry-friendly.
· Drove congressional amendment to National Rehabilitation Act to reflect industry needs. Secured support of advocates of disability community.
· Represented Compaq on the Board of Directors of ITAA's Software Division.
Special assignment reporting to VP of Research to organize Digital Equipment Corporation’s response to Y2K. Coordinated activities of executives at VP level. Established corporate Y2K program, recruited, hired, and trained program manager and staff of 4.
· Raised executive level awareness of Y2K problem, established corporate Y2K program.
· Engaged marketing, engineering, and services VPs to develop coordinated strategy to assure compliance of DEC products, their business infrastructure, and sell services to help clients.
· Worked with trade associations and consortia in finding ways to limit industry liability for Y2K issues.
· Conceived and drove efforts to establish industry-wide warranty language. Secured IEEE and ISO standards.
Defined
product offerings for sale into entertainment industries. Negotiated agreements
with partnering companies to port leading-edge products to Digital
platforms. Organized marketing presence
at trade shows.
· Product-managed development of digital television ad-insertion system by partner which had been spun-off and has become the market leader in the industry.
Responsible for earliest efforts at successful compound document products in the computer industry.
· Established and led the corporate Compound Document Architecture Program Office.
· Created and led a Digital team in a one year initiatve, forming international consortium with IBM, Bull, ICL, Unisys, and Siemens to promote compound document technology. Negotiated international legal, contract, financial, and technical issues.

engineering team of 55 software engineers in development of word processing,
publishing, and interactive graphics software products.
· Managed $4 million budget, defined long-range technical strategy for word processing, publishing, and graphics products. Produced numerous versions of 7 software products.
Built and led team through definition, development, and delivery of a major integrated publishing product.
· Wrote market study, product requirements definition, negotiated development scheduling, budgeting, financial analysis, product pricing, product promotion, sales training, field test, product announcement, and shipment for 30 person-year product.
