They are very active when they are awake. They have access to multiple surfaces and a variety of toys. They love their tippy board and the new ladder is not very hard to negotiate. They are still changing every day. I think I want to keep them all, only kidding! Wednesday, I took out all ten dogs, Hollis' three labs, Lacey, Dani, and the five pups. We had a great adventure. We walked through the house, down a couple of stairs out the door, over the blacktop, onto the pine needle covered grass, across the fallen pine limbs, into the two inch deep snow, around the barn, through the snow covered field, back across the blacktop, up the stairs, into the house, through the kitchen and back into the living room. I was like the piped piper. I had to watch that I didn't crush some of them. Every once in a while, one would get away from the pack, sit there and cry. I gave a whistle and they would come running right to me. It was a fun trip around the yard. Then when I tried to bring them back in the house, I realized Jet was no where to be found. So of course I'm trying to hustle five week old puppies into the house to find Jet. Two go in the house, then two other realize they went into the house, so they head in the house. The first two realized that the others were out so they had to go out. The fifth didn't want to miss anything so out goes that puppy. Then one from the first batch realized that it was nice outside and wanted to play more. On and on it went. Now don't forget that these puppies are all under foot the whole time and I'm losing my balance so I don't crush them with my big feet. Finally I grabbed the last two and a stuffed them back in the house but not before two of the adults wanted to go back outside. One being Dani, which meant that all the puppies wanted to go back outside. I finally got them all back in the house and they were scattered all over the kitchen. Then I had to make a snatch and grab for each one and put them back in their x-penned area. Thank goodness I had the presence of mind to lock the x-pen after I took them out in the first place or that whole process would have continued. I finally found Jet and put him in a crate for the rest of the day, so I wouldn't kill him! Only kidding, I wouldn't kill him, he's my flyball dog!
