Asahel Hart, son of Nathaniel of Kensington, born 1742, settled at North Canaan, Conn., died 1775, aged 33. Rev. Seth Hart, Hempstead, L. I., second son of Matthew of Kensington, born 1763, graduated at Yale College 1784, became rector of St. George's Church at Hempstead, to the order of priest 1792, by Bishop Seabury, died 1841. Rev. Wm. Henry Hart, Hempstead, L. I., eldest son of Rev. Seth, born 1790, admitted deacon by Bishop Hobart 1814, ordained priest by Bishop Moore 1816; in 1830 was called to the rectorship of St. Andrew's Church at Walden, Orange Co., N. Y. Rev. John C/ark Hart, Hudson, Ohio, son of Dea. Nathan of Cornwall, Coun., born 1804, died 1871, for several years pastor of Presbyterian church at Springfield, N. J., died at Ravenna, Ohio. Rev. Levi Hart, Preston, Conn., seventh son of Dea. Thomas of Southington, born 1738, graduated at Yale College 1760; the College of New Jersey gave him in 1800 the degree of D. D.; was eminently useful and successful in Preston, that part now called Griswold; he died October, 1808. Rev. Henry Elmer Hart, Durham, Conn., son of Reuel of Southington, Conn., born 1834, graduated at Yale College 1860, studied theology at East Windsor Seminary, settled first at East Hampton, Conn. Rev. Lucas Hart, settled 1812 at Wolcott, Coun., son of Simeon; born 1784, he died 1813, aged 29 years, at Wolcott, but buried at East Haven. Rev. Edson Hart, Ohio and Kentucky, eldest son of Obed of Avon, Conn., born 1796, graduated at Yale College and became a very successful preacher; he died 1867, near Louisville, Ky. Wm. Dickinson Hart, a graduate of Oberlin, studied theology two years at New Haven and the same at Andover; been a missionary in Vermont two summers. Rev. John Hart, East Guilford, Conn., third son of Capt. Thomas of Farmington, born 1682; he was three years in college at Cambridge, when he entered Yale College at Saybrook 1702, and graduated there alone 1703, and was the second graduate of that college; ordained 1707 at East Guilford; he died there 1732, aged 50 years; was called an eminent preacher of his day.
