This Web site is a 100% non-profit endeavor. It was initially intended to contain information about a variety of environmental issues of interest to citizens of Manchester. At present, however, an "environmental crisis" has emerged that concerns the development of the Hackett Hill area in the city's northwest corner. I have decided to devote most of the Web site space to this particular issue. The New Hampshire Sierra Club, in particular the Merrimack Valley Group, has shown a special interest in the Hackett Hill controversy. The National Sierra Club web site describes the Sierra Club's overall goals and provides links to its state chapters.
I live in Manchester's Ward 3, Manchester's downtown ward, and teach Human Ecology and another biology course for UMass-Lowell Online. I am a member of the NH Sierra Club (Merrimack Valley Group), the Conservation Law Foundation and the NH Audubon Society,
I welcome comments, suggestions or questions that concern the information presented on "The Manchester, NH Urban Open Space Web Site."
