1997-1998

Beverly Woodbury sent invitations to several doll makers in the area inviting them to her home to discuss forming a cloth doll club. The idea was a success, a club as formed and officers were elected.

The Officers for that year were:

  • President- Bev Woodbury
  • Vice President - Priscilla McGarry
  • Treasurer - Penny Laraia
  • Secretary/Newsletter- Althea Church
  • Historian/Photographer: Jane Houk

    Several group ideas were discussed and the following projects were implemented during the year:

    Group Projects:

  • Doll Pin Exchange
  • Fairy Exchange
  • Round Robin
  • Self Portrait Challenge

    Community Involvement Project: Charity Dolls for Abused Children

    We also exhibited our dolls at the Academy of American Doll Artists (AADA) Week of Workshops (WOW) in May of that same year.

    1997-98 New members: Christine Gee, Lee Thomson, Sheryl Blackstone, and Jeri Mills

    1998-1999 In the second year our President had to resign for personal reasons and new officers were elected.

    Over the course of the year, Jane resigned as Historian and was replaced by Penny LaRaia, Christine relocated to Arizona and was unable to continue taking care of Publicity. Bobby Atherton and Elaine Isaak took over that responsibility. Additionally, Sarah was unable to make all the meetings so Fran Marcoux assists as Librarian at many meetings.
