Memories, Sweethearts Dance I

In February of 1998, the first annual Jekyll Island Doll Seminar (JIDS) was held on Jekyll Island GA, organized
by Antonette Cely.
This event brought together nearly a dozen NIADA instructors with about 150 students from around
the world. A doll challenge was issued to all attendees with the theme of "Sweethearts Dance". Memories was the first of the three pieces I created, inspired by that theme. I saw an old woman reliving her youth while in the midst of her daily chores. In her mind she is back in time, perhaps at her wedding day or with her first beau. While this piece resided in my home, there was many a time when I caught her dancing out of the corner of my eye as I entered the room. She did not live here long. She was purchased by one of the first individuals who ever saw her. As one of my favorite pieces, I wanted to share her with you.
