In Greek mythology Harpies had the body and talons of birds and heads and torsos of a woman. They were considered grotesque creatures. Harpettes, on the other hand, have no talons, simply bodies of birds and heads of women.

Bufflehead Duck is much more demure than the Swan. She is an ingenue, so sweet, and so innocent. She must be getting ready for her first duck prom... all dressed up in her most feminine tuxedo.

She is 11" long with a wingspan of 14", standing 9" tall. Like the Swan she is created on a constructed wire frame with the fabric’s hand fitted and stitched in place. She is weighted with pellets so she won’t fly away on you. Her colors are black, white, teal, fuschia and silver. The fabrics are iridescent silk taffeta, velvet, satins, bengaline and metallics. She wears ribbon roses and crystal beads around her neck and has crystal sequins under her tail feathers.

One thing about this lady - no one else on the block will have one. She most recently won 2nd place at Craft Adventure 1998 in Springfield, MA in the "Original Dolls and Characters, Professional" Division, ribbon not included in price.
