The Coruway Film Institute is proud to present the story of Bode Miller... Bode has become a legend in ski racing. The lore is the lure – wild, untamed, growing up without electricity in the hills of New Hampshire. But the true story is more complex and richer as we see what makes Bode go so fast and see if he can bring his great speed to the bottom of the course, through ALL the gates, in one piece. Imagine going fast. Really fast. Maybe… faster than anybody else in the world. That’s what it’s like to be Bode. “Radical form” says Ski Magazine. ”I’ve never seen skiing like that before!.” says an Austrian coach. “A class by himself” says fellow champion, Aamodt. Bode Miller is on a quest to be the best ski racer in the world. Now imagine what it’s like to be with Bode on this quest. In a six-year journey we are there with him, through the crashes and recoveries. Can he become the best in the world? Does he really want to win? Or does he want to go faster than anybody else then crash when fast becomes TOO FAST? What pushes Bode over the edge that other's have stood clear of? Is it the family and place that gave him his unbounded talent? We go back to his home as Bode does, back to the place where his family lives and works as they have since 1946 when his grandparents came to Franconia, New Hampshire, haven for misfits and eccentrics. Land was cheap and plentiful, and skiing was close by. Bode is a voice of a young, restless, channel-surfing audience: generation-X. His is also the voice of a prior generation. One who’s unrealized hopes and dreams are realized through the sheer awe of Bode’s abilities. This film will speak to both of these audiences by presenting them with someone who speaks their language. Bode is their glory.
