Field & Computer Based Point to Point Path Profile/Area Studies

Field Studies

Our staff is available to conduct site studies to determine possible repeater, transmit and receiver sites. The result of our study is a report, which at a minimum details proposed sites and indicates path clearances. Optionally we can determine received carrier levels/field strength, fade margins and path reliability between two or more points, or over a given area.

Accuracy of Terrain Database Used for Path/Area Plotting

The terrain elevation information contained in our database is in three hundred (300) foot intervals for the entire USA and slightly less than one hundred (100) foot intervals for most of the USA. We also have data for some parts of Canada and Mexico. A prescribed averaging process is used for points in-between.

Path/Area Plotting

We can produce several types of terrain plots of either the surrounding area terrain or the terrain between two points. The specific plots available are, Point to Point (including Fresnel zone clearance), Contour and Three Dimensional Area Mapping.

These plots can be used on their own to determine possible repeater, transmitter or receiver locations. The results can also be used in Field Strength Studies.
