Xmas joy is spread every year
By little children playing with cheer,
Twinkling lights burn on trees and menoras
Fresh baked cookies waft from the oven.
The scent of pine hangs in the air
Filling the house with sweet scents everywhere.
Stockings hang over the crackling fire
Where boys and girls sit dressed in their Christmas attire,
Pleading with their parent this one night
"Don't make us go to bed,
We'll wait for St Nick by the fire."
Outside, neighbors gathered like angels from above,
Their carols are songs mixed with laughter and love,
Laughing and sharing stories of the holiday season,
Simply giving hugs for no reason.
An old fashion Christmas 'twas this year,
A moment of peace, hope and cheer
For throughout our town and late into the night
Families feasted, and waited for St. Nicholas to complete his flight.
